Great Places to Work for Women

Great Place to Work and Fortune magazine have honored Altar’d State as one of the 2021 Best Workplaces for Women. This is Altar’d State’s first time being named to this prestigious list. Earning a spot on the list means that Altar’d State is one of the best companies to work for in the country.

The Best Workplaces for Women award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 5.6 million current U.S. employees. In that survey, 94% of Altar’d State’s employees said the company is a great place to work. This number is 35% higher than the average U.S. company.

“We are thrilled to earn this latest recognition from Great Place to Work and Fortune magazine. As a people-first organization, we work hard to provide an exceptional experience for all of our 2,000+ associates. With 96% of our team being female, this honor is especially meaningful.” – Vicky O’Neill, VP of People Development

Great Places to Work for Women

The Best Workplaces for Women list is highly competitive. Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture, selected the list using rigorous analytics and confidential employee feedback. Companies were only considered if they are a Great Place to Work-Certified organization.

Altar’d State has been a Great Place to Work-Certified organization since 2018. The rapidly-growing fashion retailer has also earned recognition as one of the Best Workplaces in Retail, placing 9th on this list in 2020 and 13th in 2019. O’Neill added, “Through Great Places to Work Trust Index survey and other resources, we regularly gather feedback directly from our associates. This process has led to a rewarding benefit offering at Altar’d State that includes 14 weeks of Paid Maternity Leave, 4-week Paid Sabbaticals and Paid Time Off every month to volunteer. Combined with the stellar career opportunities created by our rapid growth, we believe our associates have a unique opportunity at Altar’d State to build a remarkable career within the retail industry.”

Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they create a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.

“These companies have made a commitment to fostering equity in the workplace. With the data about gender inequity in mind, the Best Workplaces for Women braved the task of combatting gender inequity by ensuring their women employees feel safe, heard, challenged and valued,” says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work.
